Stephen is a former Visual Effects Supervisor who learned his craft under the tutelage of Oscar winners John Dykstra and Richard Edlund. Stephen added the title of screenwriter to his resume when he adapted Stephen King’s short story THE MANGLER for New Line Cinema, under the supervision of Stephen King himself. Stephen not only wrote THE MANGLER, but also directed 2nd unit and supervised the Visual Effects.
The world premiere of Stephen’s feature directorial debut HEADS N TAILZ was in Los Angeles at the 2005 Dances With Films festival winning the Fusion Audience Award. HEADS N TAILZ also received a Special Jury Prize from The Festival Du Film De Strasbourg.
Stephen’s short BINKY screened in the Shorts Corner at the 2014 The Cannes Film Festival and had its US premiere at Dances With Films. BINKY also won the Best Screenplay and Best Actress Awards at the 2014 Monaco International Film Festival and an Award of Merit from Best Shorts.
Stephen’s second feature FLYTRAP had its World Premiere at ECU The European Independent Film Festival in April and won the Best Non-European Independent film prize as well as the prestigious Remi Award from Worldfest Houston, The Jury Prize at The Chelsea Film Festival in New York and the Audience Award at the Culver City Film Festival. FLYTRAP is in wide distribution via Amazon, Itunes, Google Play and Roku.
Stephen is set to begin work on his next feature, the UK based film SKENDLEBY early in 2019.
